My newest wee one is named May…

My newest wee creation is named May… in honor of the month, and in honor of my lovely grandmother, Mae, who just recently passed away.  She was a great lady, and she LOVED the sun!

My May will be available ’till May 24th.  Stop by for a peek if you have a chance.

It’s all about perspective…

I’ve always dreamed of having a garden of muted, soft colors… pale pinks, soft purples, blues, pale pinky-peach…

However, my husband leans toward the bigger, bolder, brighter side of things.  Honestly, I can say that our theme must be “circus” this year.  When the husband says, “Let’s buy some flowers,”  I jump at the chance.  I’m agreeable beyond belief… whatever you want!

So we wind up with this ….

And about a millions of these…

The look gorgeous from the street… BIG, BOLD, can’t miss them.  They’d look vivid and bright when viewed from the moon!

For some reason I tend to think in terms of what would delight me if I was 4 inches tall!  Wandering through a forest of sweet woodruff…

I’d be delighted to see the tiny blue bells of the grape hyacinth close up and personal…

I seek out wild violets.

So, my contribution consisted of violas…

And some pretty pink snapdragons….

My choices… you can barely see them from the driveway.  You have to really get up close and personal.

It’s a matter of perspective, and I think I’m about ankle high!

The sun is beautiful today….

…so why is it that all I can see is how dirty the windows look as the light comes through?  Seriously… I mean that in the literal as well as the figurative sense.  I have a bit of the “blues.”  Maybe if I get out of the house I can just see the sun and NOT the windows!  Sounds like a plan.

Oh… this is just a borrowed stock photo…. pretty though, isn’t it?

Seriously… I have this amazing life, and I have every reason in the world to be absolutely happy.

Desperately Seeking Spring…

I have to say, “Oh GOD thank you!!!!”  Truthfully, I always rejoice when Spring wakes her sleepy head.  But, this year, with our late snow storms, there’s just a bit more to rejoice about.  I am SO ready for winter to be over.  Apparently, most of the neighborhood is as well.  At least the Mom’s who trudge out the the school bus stop each morning.

Our first calender day of Spring brought forth howling winds and a near white out blizzard.  Nice.  So we’ve all just been desperately searching for each and every sign that Spring might truly be on it’s way.  No robins yet, no daffodils, no warm breeze…. and thus we’ve started to rely on any sign at all… no matter how unreliable or gross it may be.

“There were maggots in the garage garbage can this morning… isn’t that a sign?”

“Spring where are you?”

“There is a faint trace of dog sh*t smell as you walk by the Xxxxx’s house …. the Golden Retriever excrement is thawing …. must be over 32 degrees….. a sure sign that it’s warming up!”

“Spring commeth!”

Seriously, it’s getting THAT bad.  But today, the daffodils are just sprouting through the snow, so I do believe that we shall have more pleasant bus stop conversation in the near future! YEA!!!
